The Celebration Tour 2023 (Greatest Hits) (1 Viewer)

Just as I was thinking "she should have got Lola to do that" I was suddenly looking on in awe at her armpit hair. I'd be more than happy with that come December in the Dam :disco:

And does that mean MX is coming out on DVD?

She's rehearsing a GRUNGEY version of Candy Perfume Girl :disco:

I have been thinking out potential setlists

I think she will end in Celebration.

Encore:
Music
Like a Prayer
Celebration

I’ve still no idea how she plans to get through this schedule but am so looking forward to it. I have irrational fears she’ll cancel the show I’m going to as it’s not sold out yet on night two when I’m going whilst night one is.

I reckon she won’t be onstage for “some” of it :eyes:

Let's all be thankful she ends with Celebration and not with Spanish Lesson or Bday Song.

I'm guessing the set list will be 50% hits/50% stuff that should never ever see the light of day again.

Every single deep cut that someone hears being rehearsed outside the stadium will not happen.

The biggest hits will undergo the biggest reworking, to the point of being barely recognisable.

And 25% of the dates wlll be MANCELLED.

I love how we convienently forget that she has pretty much been always a reliable live artist and that her only "Hits"/ "Celebration" style tour so far was NOTHING like the above...

the setlist will be 80% crowd pleasers for sure. I'm sure she'll sneak in Revolver and Candy Shop (also a crowd pleaser at this point) but this tour seems designed to cement her legacy in the way new music can't, so she'll play it safe and give the people what they want. probably with a strong 80s focus.

was it posted here already that Kevin Antunes seems to be OUT and Stuart Price is now sole musical director for the tour?

I hope you're right. I'd rather it was a leftfield set personally - a Madonna Anti-Tour would be sensational.

Is that good or bad? It seems people weren't keen on Price's efforts with Jessie Ware.
good! he was musical director for Re-invention and the Confessions Tour, both of which featured some of her best live arrangements. he also did PSB's Progress Live tour.

a lot of Kevin's arrangements (Sticky & Sweet on) have been pretty flat in comparison, or often just the album versions of the newer material.
