The Celebration Tour 2023 (Greatest Hits)

My friend may not be able to make it, but I'll definitely go solo for Madge. That they're not going to know until very soon near the date is slightly annoying though as it determines which airport I'll fly from and quite simply I detest last minute changes because I dread the loss of preparation (preparation) and the pain of re-planning (re-planning). Now I'm thinking I'll probably go into cardiac arrest when GGW starts buzzing through the speakers and the whole ground is shaking from the excitement of something so throwaway and faceless being somehow iconic and tour-de-force.

Avoid instagram if you don't want spoilers. Some fan pages are posting the entire setlist. So fucking annoying.

I mean let's face it she should open every tour with GGW

She really has done well to keep this tour under wraps. There are so many “INSIDE LOOK AT MADONNA’S TOUR” click bait articles out there and they’re all just speculation and wondering out loud.

How many toppy carrots?

She must be scrambling to add a portion of time dedicated to the Middle East situation
Just recreate the Eurovision performance, truly a greatest hit in anyone's book anyway.

In other news, Niki Harris is reported to be still available for dates in 2023 and 2024 and beyond.

Yes. If she had vanished from public view after Confessions and those were the first 2 snaps to surface 17 years later (after Confessions promo ceased) we'd all be on the floor screaming. I'm impressed.

Full setlist is here

I'm a tad disappointed; some ODD choices given that there are some HUGE omissions. Track 24 is a LOVELY surprise though. I like that she largely ignores the last 15 years.

OH it's being updated in real time and not finished :o :D I thought

LAV

was the finale!

I wonder if she'll end with

Express Yourself

then because that is a BIG omission for me.

OK so
The stream was potato quality (mostly the ceiling) and he sang along to most of it but I would say that

- The stage looks next level as do the visuals and lighting
- The setlist is incredible
- The arrangements/remixes are fabulous (mostly faithful to the original versions/remixes etc. that everyone knows and loves)
- From what I could see at least, she looks good. Doesn't move much understandably.
- There's a backing track the whole way through the show and she dips in and out on top with live vocals. Sometimes she sounded good. Others not so good.

Can't wait till Tuesday!

The finale does kind of make sense and is acceptable in the grand scheme even though I'm not a FAN.

My suggestion of what else is missing would have been a great inclusion in the encore.

I think the only glaring omissions are
Frozen (but she gave us a majestic performance of that on the previous tour so I get why it was excluded here) and Express Yourself (although there's a tiny element of it in the LAV/Billie Jean video).

The way she paid Hard Candy dust tho :D - not complaining
