Obviously still too early for celeb names and there aren't even any pro dancer comings and goings yet, but Rylan has departed It Takes Two:

Also some possibly dubious rumours that Shirley has been given a take it or leave it contract offer.

So despite the judges apparently being AT WAR with the BBC, they are returning, as are all the professionals apart from two year spare Cameron:

Amy Dowden has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is apparently waiting to find out what treatment is needed but really rough luck, especially considering her ongoing issues arising from Crohn's :(

Delighted for her. A nice bit of regular seasonal employment, that.

Harman would be one of the biggest ringers they have ever had, surely. He was in the original Mamma Mia cast and has been in musicals over the years since.

I think everyone involved in the Danny John-Jules Strictly run would like to forget it happened.

Based on previous experience and likely voter appeal I expect Nigel to do well. I like Angela Scanlon too.

I've seen Adam Thomas (Waterloo Road / Emmerdale) reported who I think could do VERY WELL if he's half decent and is actually doing it. He's an I'm A Celeb finalist, is quite fit, and seems to have that northern everyman charm that often plays well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Claire Richards does it. She’s done everything else!

I’d love Nadine to do it though.

It's deranged, but I do see Strictly Reveal Season as the start of the COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS

Layton Williams has apparently signed up, cue cheat and fix headlines.
As delighted as I am to see Kylie from BBC Two's Beautiful People flourish, this IS a bit mad. His breakthrough role was as a West End BILLY ELLIOT for heaven's sake, he's as much of a dancer as he is anything else.

Should make for some :disco: routines though. And I expect being a queer person of colour dancing with another man will cost him more votes with middle england than being a ringer will, so in for a penny in for a pound. GO ON LAYTON

It feels like we've had way more in the way of press leaks this time than in recent years? I'm interested to see if all the best names are out there already and/or any of the reported names don't actually come to fruition.

Pretty much the exact same could be said of Nigel Harman as well though, although I guess he's got more recognition as an actor due to one TV credit two decades ago. And he'll probably be more palatable generally to the Strictly audience.

Good detective work @lolly
It's here next week, so I was surprised and checked when the tour was due to end.

I guess he may negotiate his way out of it, but it's only a six month tour - I'm surprised he'd accept if there was a chance he'd be asked. And I can imagine he's been approached a few times over the years.

I really hope Heidi Range is part of the lineup given that she's said she wants to do it.

Incidentally, Faye Tozer and Samantha Womack are also in the cast of 42nd Street, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted.

Interesting. It does make you wonder how many of those 'confirmed' by the press are actually in. I always like some good names as surprises.
