Love Island 2024 (1 Viewer)

Poor Patsy. She really was trying, probably too hard, but nothing was sticking. I fancy Munveer, but he was the right choice as well. Both didn't have anything on the horizon or have any plot twist abilities.

I wasn't into the Geordie guy, but if it takes camera time off the insipid Ronnie I'll gladly listen to his small talk cliches instead. I'm thinking he ironically gets interest off girls because he's the type of attractive you think won't be a cheater and can be hen pecked. The new girl he's currently chatting to has a glazed-eyed fixed smile like a slowly shook cabbage patch doll.

Do you mean Tiffany?! :D

Her rictus grin did not MOVE during the episode when she and the other bombshells entered. She's endearing, but I fear she's only there as "the other girl" to make it look like they didn't just send Joey's ex in to stir things up, even though that's clearly what happened.

Also, Jess coupling with Sean to get out of her triangle with Ronnie and then just continuing to whinge about Ronnie at every opportunity is not a good look. The best thing about that whole situation is the petty Jess vs. Harriet rivalry, which has been a highlight of the series.

God, there are some HORRIBLE, AWFUL people in there this year :D

Ciaran and Nicole are my early favourites, but they're obviously heading for a big Casa Amor bust-up because it's all been a bit too easy for them so far.

Smamf and Harlot confiding in each other about their woes, with no interest in the other's issues, is my new favourite series of conversations in here.

Having properly watched last night, I actually think the producers are being a bit irresponsible in their treatment of Samantha. She's clearly insecure, so sending Joey's ex in and then basically doing a Casa Amor-lite to facilitate them being able to go away and rekindle without any interference while she stews in the villa feels a tad unpleasant.

I am quite AGOG at how willingly Joey appears to be throwing himself under the bus. That episode was NOT a good look for him.

Completely agreed on the above point about Smamf. The producers are showing absolutely no responsibility - maybe they had the Geordie down as being a buffer for the inevitable.

I imagine regardless how used to someone is being in front of the camera, that having someone familiar and getting reassurance from them, it probably all enhances the already established intimacy between them to some degree, but he just likes his screen time and clearly knows how to move storyline along when he's not involved. Smamfa's face when speaking to Joey (I pressed pause at an unfortunate moment) was iconic.

As much as the producers are being close to cruelty, she was blinded by visions of magazine deals as much as actually being into him.

In some respects, I think the fact that Samantha appeared, at least in part, to be smitten by "Joey Essex" makes what's happened since even worse. Rightly or wrongly, she let herself enter into the celebrity bubble. Grace might not be famous, but she certainly seems to move in the same circles as Joey, and the show has bent over backwards to engineer a situation that allows them to reunite. It's not a level playing field in terms of who Samantha and Grace are or how they would respond to Joey's presence in the show. I don't think the Love Island producers have played fair in any way whatsoever, and Samantha rightly feels like she's been made a mug of. The whole thing is horrid, and I can only hope/assume it damages Joey's "brand" because he's shown himself to be quite unpleasant.

Paging @Rita for thoughts.

That's nuts. The girls should have chosen to get rid of one of the uncoupled guys who aren't giving nearly as much content. It's not as if Samantha didn't have massive potential for a comeback.

I totally agree with the consensus on Digital Spy that if Harriet or Jess had been left, they would have shoved a bombshell in there rather than dumping them from the island. Given Samantha threatened to walk the other night, I wonder if there's been some behind-the-scenes direction to give her a dignified exit. It seemed very harsh but also probably the right thing given the situation she'd been put in.

If there isn't a HUGE row tonight with Harriet giving Joey a deserved dressing down, I will be rather disappointed.

Just started watching the latest episode. This has actually been a very decent series. I'm wondering when it will go downhill as I cannot bare the babies episode that I hope they don't do.

There really is no point to the talent episode when clearly production give them options if they are without (the foot puppet prop, art stand, etc).

No major interest with the parents, but Jessy's dad was such a dilf, her mother was great with what she said to Joey about showing respect to his exes, Kieran's mother clearly just grinning and bearing it, and I'm glad Mimi dodged yet another grilling about her terracecapade (she clearly did it for one last attempt - and what a horrible thing to do from Joey who just knows exactly how to make dramatic TV).

Back to the talent show: maybe they should all be given a roast challenge as clearly people weren't ready for Sean's.

Well Grace and whatshisface going was quite abrupt. Watching tonight's now. It does seem to be in the filler stages now. They need to make it the final already.

36 minutes in (I reached the product placement segment with the girls). I'm tapping out until the final. Unwatchable.

Can't remember her season, so I'll ask here. Why is Ekin Su on Watch What Happens Live?

Oh she was on The Traitors US.
