Ed Sheeran - Autumn Variations

Literally should have gone with with "√" as album title, what a flop.

How inconsequential.

This is out. Only one of the tracks debuted on the Spotify global chart:

American Town
#81 Global · 1,624,649 streams

#116 US · 402,479
#28 UK · 141,840

He's really fallen off a cliff this year, I wonder why? I find everything he's done insufferable so I'm in no position to discuss quality etc but has he just reached the dreaded "we don't need new music from you, just go and play the ones we know plz" era or is he actually declining in popularity?

The feeling I get is that "=" and "Bad Habits" in particular caused short term gain and long term pain, pandering to a more fickle spotify-audience. He seems to be struggling to pick up the same mass appeal his previous, more acoustic output had.

That's just too bad, too sad.

Plus, this is completely hookfree, the one song that charted is like a watered down Galway Girl if that's even possible.

Ouch. 'Devoid of wit... unintentional hilarity... half-arsed even by Sheeran's standards.'

That really reads like a one star review.

I accidentally heard about 15 seconds of the single and the lyrics were like a parody of an Ed Sheeran song.
