We’ve seen that Tory tactic time and time again - offer the pre-written line on the matter, do not swerve from it, and if you’re pressed just repeat it, they’ll get bored eventually.

Whether the journalist cuts them off or moves on doesn’t really matter - either way it makes them look absolutely useless, I don’t understand that strategy at all!

At the weekend in the Carabao Cup Final Liverpool were singing FUCK THE TORIES and Chelsea joined in. I've never met a more Tory football fanbase than Chelsea. What I'm saying is yes, you're right.

The theory is that if you repeat something often enough, people will start to believe it. This has worked multiple times for the Tories with the support of the press but when looked at in isolation, the individual can look like a useless lump of protoplasm.

Apparently Labour's two projected seat losses would be Bristol Central (Thangnam Debbonaire projected to be ousted by the Greens) and Sheffield Hallam (Nick Clegg's old seat going back to the Lib Dems)

They'll lose a few more than that! Starmer's approach to Gaza will be a major issue for him in Scotland and elsewhere. The calculation seems to be that the kind of person who was happy to vote Labour in 2017 and then Tory in 2019 because the wanted Brexit won't be too bothered but the longer the GE takes to come, the greater the impact will be.
 
Labour will obviously win the GE but I think the idea that only 2 current Labour MPs are at risk is, at best, naïve and at worst, entitled.
 
Bristol Central is going to be a huge battleground for the Greens - possibly the seat they will most hotly contest, with their co-leader standing in it.

It's got a huge student population in a city which is already more left leaning than most, and I imagine a lot more of the Labour vote was for Corbyn and the Labour Left than most safe Labour seats.

It's another seat which is having boundary changes, most of it being the old Bristol West seat. Of the 14 city councillors in the new constituency, 12 are Green.

Electoral Calculus categorises it as 'strong left', and a survey earlier this year found it to be the most pro-immigration constituency in the country, just ahead of Hackney South and Shoreditch. The old Bristol West seat had the highest Remain vote (80%) outside London.

Overturning a 28k Labour majority on one level seems ridiculous, but I think they should do it. 28k really is a figure which flatters to deceive there.

I've loved Bristol being a little red island in a sea of blue, but I'd be even more thrilled if we end up a big splodge of red with a green core, with a few yellow splashes here and there around the outskirts.
