THE TRAITORS: BBC CONFIRMS LAUNCH FOR REALITY COMPETITION

In this nail-biting psychological reality competition, Claudia Winkleman greets 22 strangers as they arrive at a beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands to play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

But hidden amongst them are The Traitors whose job is to secretly murder a player every night, without getting caught. It’s up to the others, the Faithfuls, to try to detect who the traitors are, and banish them from the game, before they become their next victim.

For the lucky ones who survive to the end, they have the chance of winning that life-changing cash. But if a Traitor remains undetected, they’ll take all the money.

The Traitors will debut on BBC One on Tuesday 29 November at 9.30pm, right after Wales v England in the Men’s FIFA World Cup. The second episode will be broadcast on Wednesday 30 November at 9.15pm on BBC One following Poland v Argentina.

The third episode will be on at 9pm on Thursday 1 December on BBC One. In addition, the first three episodes will all be available on BBC iPlayer from 10.30pm on Tuesday 29 November.

Claudia Winkleman says: “I’m obsessed by psychological games and I couldn’t stop watching the Dutch version of the show. The fact that the BBC version is set in a castle in Scotland and the producers want me to wear tweed meant I was all in.”

This sounds (potentially) so good, and hosted by Claudia too :disco:

How thoughtful of the BBC to put some hot reality shit on after the football.

Actually, will I'm a Celeb have finished by then? If not that is brave scheduling.

The Australian version just finished here and I LOVED it. The games to increase the prize money I could have done without but the rest was great.
Unfortunately it tanked in in the ratings so that was probably the last of it.

This starts tonight. Extended trailer here:

(I hope they keep the I’m A Celebrity… looking bits to a minimum).

5 minutes in and this is a REALLY well edited opening... they've done a great job of giving off the excitement they're all feeling. Think this is going to be really well made.

They are bound to be back. I wonder if their portraits are still up.

They weren't - there were only 20.

I don't think they'll be back - I think they wanted to make a big impact at the start by showing how ruthless they are. I was baffled why anyone would do anything but try and be in the middle though.

This secret couple thing doesn’t bode well for the series. They are already messing with the game mechanics.

I didn't realise we'd know the Traitors.
I thought we had to work it out too.

No because we get to see them deciding who to murder each night I believe. It's the biggest difference between The Traitors and The Mole I think.

But in this you can root for the traitors as well as the faithful. Whereas in The Mole you are basically against the Mole.

I do hope the victims get to chat to their murderers, Circle-style.

I think it is Theo.

But I think if Imran then goes out next, they've lost a shield for themselves.

They are definitely 3 of the least obvious choices of Traitor on the face of it.
