Hot rumour that this is incoming in May 2023.

Sounds like a TERRIBLE idea to be honest, I can't imagine the audience would be there.

I'd of course be there in a HEARTBEAT if it did happen :D

in a small venue I can imagine she could do 10 dates or something - the rich American hunties will travel. but surely she's not famous enough to do much more than that?

the same rumours suggest a Euro/UK/Aus tour is happening but not til 2024 (album out Q2 23)

What sort of size are most of the Vegas theatres?

The Colosseum at Caesars (built for Celine and where Adele is now) is 4k capacity. Britney's was similar.

You need a big-ish venue and a long-ish run if you want spectacle rather than cabaret.

If she's going to tour the same show in Europe afterwards, that would of course change the economics. But any casino will want something exclusive for a residency, not a sitdown of bigger tour.

Didn't Robbie Williams do one? Arguably he is far less known in the States.

Las Vegas is a tourist trap anyway - it's not like she'd be playing to locals.

I’d rather dial 696-9696 than go see Robbie perform live.

Yes, that was going to be my question - don't most sales come from tourists who will go and see pretty much anything just because 'it's a show in Vegas'?

Not that I think for a moment she would have the pulling power of Adele or anything near, but I wouldn't be surprised if she could pull a decent length residency off. I remember looking a while back and being quite baffled at some acts playing there alongside the headline grabbers.

She could do well with a residency in a theater type venue. She did the Pearls Theater at the Palms for her 2009 American tour. Approximately 2,400 seats. People will travel for it, and Vegas is full of tourists who purchase spur of the moment tickets for acts they typically wouldn't bother seeing in their local area. I just don't know how long a residency needs to be in order to make a profit, particularly in a smaller venue.

I would guess her American fans are disproportionally older gay men who have the money for this kind of thing

Don't people often do this when they're not releasing new music or at least done promoting it? Or not? It feels odd if she's got a new album coming but I suppose it depends when that comes and there's a lot of days in a year so...

I can see it working well for her, as others have said I imagine people buy tickets to pretty much ANYTHING there. I've never been but there were vague plans to go for my sister-in-law's 40th a few years back and I immediately went looking to see who was playing.

You do get hoards of teenagers declaring that they love Kylie on the Drag Race YouTube videos and they need more lip syncs from this underrated queen yaaaas.

I don't honestly think they've heard any of her songs bar the Disco singles but the sentiment is noice.

It's at a new venue at the Venetian apparently. She's going to be some sort of glorified hi-tech nightclub act. :disco:

From the album thread courtesy of @Halli:

According to the report, Minogue will perform at new nightclub Voltaire inside The Venetian Tower from October. At the 1,000-seat venue, she will allegedly perform a cabaret-inspired show using “state-of-the-art technology”.

However, unlike previous stars of Vegas like Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, Minogue reportedly hasn’t signed a lengthy exclusivity deal. This means she can return to the UK for her 2024 Tension arena tour.

A thousand seats a night though…

(not that she’d have to sell them all, it’s Vegas after all)

I read that there will be tables at the front/floor and it will be more like a fine wine dine for mega bucks experience with standard seating also.
Also apparently a greatest hits show not focusing on Tension, which is to be expected for this.

Weekends only though. Is she going to be based in the States the rest of the time?

I would imagine so, but she'd have launched and released the album, and I can't imagine this being too long. Like until the end of the year?

The article I read (I can’t find the link now) seemed to suggest the reason she turned the other offer down is because it tied her in to more than just weekends and she was required to sign an exclusivity deal.
