PRETTY easy for me- job hasn't changed, salary still being paid. I also don't want to sound CUNTY when seeing other people's positions but the only annoying thing on the horizon is that my annual bonus was going to be spectacular this year but might be a little less so now. Totally understand my position of privilege.

I'm actually quite well off to be honest as I am also not DOING anything, all my summer plans are cancelling and refunding and I'm paying off my credit card debt. Financially, at least, it's the best thing that's happened to me in a while...

I’m still employed and no mention of lay offs for us however the longer this goes on the more precarious my position gets since I’m the newest person at the department.

My savings were decimated in the previous year and I’m starting from zero so I’m trying to curb my spending which is mostly food. No cinemas and take out is helping.

I'm not concerned for the immediate future, but it's the fallout over the next 2/3 years that worries me. I worked in restaurants for years and I always thought that whatever happened that was a job I could fall back on if needed, but I can't see that industry bouncing back for many years. I'm saving as much as I can right now so I have something to fall back on if things go south, but the problem for the economy is everyone with an income will be doing the same I imagine.

Still in my current job but spending far less as i'm currently staying with my parents. Still paying rent on my room in London, for my online counselling sessions and digs money to my parents, but other than that my expenses are, as you might imagine, considerably reduced. I'm managing to put money back into my savings for the first time since I moved to London, which feels really great since they took a serious hit when I was unemployed immediately prior to that.

The contract for my job runs out in October, but by some kind of wild fortune, I went for an interview on 13th March and was offered the job. My FIRST EVER permanent contract as well, but I honestly won't feel totally secure until i've passed probation in this role. Starting a new job in the current circumstances is going to be a complete headfuck... I just hope it all works out as no other charities are going to be hiring for the foreseeable.

Earning the same, spending less... I've been very lucky as most of my family are losing some of their income. They always say 'teaching is a secure profession' and this is the kinda thing where you finally realise that what they're saying makes sense.

Oh and working MUCH less... it's really hard to find stuff to do all day. In reality, I probably have 2-3 hours worth of actual work to do each day now. It's very odd because I'm used to working 10-12 hour days. The last two weeks have been the Easter holidays, we're 'back' on Monday, but with 400 fewer students to worry about as government have said (unhelpfully) that nothing Year 11 or 13 do now will count towards their grade... so I have a team of 15 teachers creating about 20 lessons a week between us... that's really not enough work to go round.

I work in interior design so the future of the industry is a bit uncertain, it’s linked to the property market which looks like it’ll tank, but we’re grimly hoping that business will actually be quite busy post quarantine as people will be sick of the sight of their own houses.

You may well be right. Unable to move, people may well elect to extend, improve and renovate.

My job is the same, I;m still having to go into the office and few of my expenses involved going-out kinda things so I'm kind of even at the moment. I'm refusing to take public transport which is a saving and some exercise of a day, I can't go to Fopp/HMV/etc for records and CDs but I'm probably spending the same at Bandcamp. I can't buy clothes at the minute tho' - I need Tall ranges that aren't instore but I order online and get them delivered to the store, picking them up from there as I can't be at home to take a delivery.
Also, we get vouchers for a free breakfast and a free lunch at work so that's reduced food expenses.

I'm worried about how a recession would impact on my job and the main thing that is reducing that worry is that we have a fair amount of agency staff who would go before me if there were job cuts. That's obviously not a particularly humanitarian way of looking at it but it's very much the fact of the matter.

I'm still working, head office said those who wanted to be furloughed will be paid in full, those who work would get an extra 15% per hour. I normally do around 35-40 hours a week but that's been cut to around 20-25 hours a week. I haven't noticed a change yet but May might be a big difference. Although I'm spending significantly less at the moment so it's a great opportunity for saving.

I feel really bad for anyone who’s income has been hit, I’m sure it most be so stressful but hopefully everyone is using the support available to them.

My work has continued busier than ever and I’ve been piling up the overtime as there isn’t much else to do. We are getting double time overtime. It’s to support with people hit by covid-19, it’s not a period of profiting in business terms from the situation but more we are needed to help people impacted. I would say the situation has brought the worst out in more people than I thought as most forget we are still working and have our own health concerns while helping them out as best we can.

Money wise my spending is definitely down. I can’t face supermarkets after working so just do one shop per week in Tesco presently and that’s it.

Rolling in it. No daily couple of pints in the pub saves a ton of money. Couple of conventions I was saving up for are cancelled also.

It could very easily go wrong though if work goes tits up. Doesn't help that they already couldn't sell fire to an Eskimo at the best of times.

I started there in February. I left a job I loved, took a pay cut, moved cities and basically stepped down a level from where I was to do a job which connected with me on a personal level. I don’t regret it but fuck I didn’t expect this, I just feel robbed of the chance to try.

No festival this year means no income so they have to scale back which means chop for me (and others)
