Well, this was a lot of fun. I think it's a great movie for people who used to love Marvel and HATE it nowadays.

The cameos are fab as well, fan service at its finest while being self-aware that it has gotten out of hand and a bit ridiculous with the whole multiverse shit :D :disco:

Is it me or did anyone else also feel it's a stand-alone movie but also works within the MCU? I mean, they do reference Loki (Series) in about 90% of the movie, along with some hints of Dr.Strange, X-Men and Ant-Man.

Also JUSTICE for Channing Tatum and Jennifer Garden, they were great.

Re: Guy Lodge - he's written this which likely explains a lot of his ire -

It feels a bit like he's reaching, but I am yet to see this myself.
What a whiney article that was. Yea there are gay jokes but there’s also straight jokes. None of them felt out of line and the packed audience I was in laughed at all of them. The script is what makes Deadpool who he is as a character and nobody is safe.

Saw this, this evening. Not remotely interested in the comic book universes and didnt know most of the cameos (Mr Ag had to explain who Captain America was). Despite that I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I've always enjoyed Deadpool, because I like jokes :)

Just off to flick my bean to the Enya box set.

This was...fine. The whole time I kept waiting for the rest of the X-men to appear and...they never did. Hugh Jackman looked good though.

The team for *NSYNC are smart. They rebranded the album to tie in the movie on iTunes.

Saw it Friday night (Mr Kate’s second viewing) and basically SAME to all of this

SQUEALED at the Enya quote. Also enjoyed “I have a black belt in Karen”

The best parts were the cameos and the fight scenes, especially the one in the car when Deadpool ends up in all those seatbelts lol.

The rest of it was shoehorned nostalgia and Disney trying to convince us they're 'self aware'.

The jokes were hit and miss. But overall a decent parody regardless.

Disney had absolutely nothing to do with that script and it showed.

Disney, Hollywood, corporate entertainment, capitalist media. Pick whatever synonym works for you. I found the script very "See?! We can totally make fun of ourselves, we're one of you! (now buy our shit)".

We had free tickets to see it, so I didn't mind it too much and I chuckled a bit, but it just proved once again that these superhero movies are so boring and predictable these days. And I thought Hugh Jackman was sleepwalking through this, he used to be much better in this role.
I think the last superhero movie I kind of enjoyed was the first Wonder Woman, but I hadn't seen one in ages.
X2 and Batman Returns still reign supreme.
