The first few tracks are really MOODY aren't they. I don't mean glum, I mean there's a very clear MOOD to them. The first few drums and strings of Strong Black Vine set the song up exactly how it remains throughout. There's an on-edge quality to it.
 
OK so I don't mind Strong Black Vine but it feels very much like 'Tori by numbers' at this point. A hint of Posse, a bit of Scarlet and all that.
It just doesn't feel necessary I think.

Yes the production on AATS is excellent.
I'm sure I read an analysis of it somewhere on a Tori loon forum back in the day that it was her 'producers album'.

Yes! But it does trick you into thinking the album is going to be something other than it is

The song feels like an intergalactic transcendental T hug to me and I will never apologise for it.
(Shaking and crying in the corner violently)
