I'll go first with one (two) from Butterfly



the mid section of this album is ecstasy to me and these two really hit (in very different ways). is Babydoll liked? I'm not sure. but it's a smash.



and Close My Eyes is obviously all kinds of heartbreaking, maybe her best ballad from the "low key" (ie. whispered/no belting) selection.

I think we have waxed lyrical about If It's Over before (and technically it was a single) but my god if that isn't the song of her entire career. it's completely synonymous with winter time for me. I had it on riding the bike in the freezing rain tonight and it felt like a big warm embrace.

so many great songs on this album - Faded, Dedicated, Meteorite, Cry, Heavenly/No Ways Tired, MAKE IT LOOK GOOD (!) - I really believe it's only the circumstances around Mariah at the time that give people the impression they have of this album because the music is stellar. even the voice sounds good.

why was You Don't Know What To Do not her biggest hit since Touch My Body? maybe she was a little AHEAD of the disco revival TREND
