S11 E06: Draglympics

Was good to get Scarlett out of the way. There was no way she was gonna last much longer even if she had stayed.

I am LOVING A'keria. She's starting to shine more.
 
Just my personal taste but WHAT IS IT with gays and platinum blonde hair + natural beards?
 
Who insures this show?! I can't believe after the season 9 disaster they did ANOTHER sports challenge, and another bitch got injured. :D

Quite a fun episode. I was surprised they didn't double save after Scarlett's bag of tricks, but I suppose it was a bit desperate and her transition to the jumpsuit was clunky. As a fellow non-dancer, I did feel for her when she just couldn't get it.

Weird choice to even pretend Nina was in danger of bottom 2, she was the obvious standout of that team, and Vanjie seemed to get slightly harsher critiques across the board.
 
i like nina but she is very one note and all her runway looks are cheap craft projects.

yvie is annoying me. she needs to take the smug and righteousness down a notch.

brooke was the winner in my book. i hate how she paints her face but this time her look was great.

vanjie is circling the drain (what was that runway about? not even the outfit, that jaw contouring was a mess, i mean seriously) but i've finally warmed to her.

i like scarlett though (or maybe because) she's busted, will miss her more than ra'jah who i don't really dislike most of the time but i'm not keen to see more. her lipsynch was dull, at least scarlett was fun.

i can't get past akeria's name (and boring style). otherwise she's starting to grow on me.

i like plastique but i swear all her runways have been variations of two things.

who else is there?
 
Loved the episode, really enjoyed it. I felt sorry for Scarlet- she had no natural rhythm like Raja but still brought it. Or tried to. Raja was more lazy. But my esteemed friend @VoR is right- that was a clunky reveal. I enjoyed the lip sync on the whole though.

I didn’t get Akeria as the winner either. I didn’t particularly notice her at all in the challenge...
 
As for Vanjie, I thought she was great in the challenge, which obviously saved her. That runway look was so basic...
 
I really like this season.

Scarlet was growing on me over these past episodes and I'm sad to see her go.

Yvie is a bit obnoxious but gives so much in her looks and performance. Nina and her are my favourites. I agree that Nina looks a bit wrecked a lot of the time but she sells it. I also am starting to love Akeria.
 
I am here for Nina West and Plastique (but only because of how funny I’ve seen her off the show) I’m down for Vanjie to stay because she is far too interesting. Brooke is not winning me. She’s soooo similar to Detox but with none of the character.

This episode was on a par with the Cheerleading for messy. Silky is so infectious I don’t care if she’s a cunt.
 
Nina West is getting way over criticised. I enjoyed everything she did.

Scarlet gave a far more entertaining lip sync (which was a great one) but again it was clunky in places.

Brooke, Plastique, A'keria and actually Ru all looked amazing.
 
I tend to agree with everything Yvie says, but agree she needs to take it down a notch. Ra'Jah feels utterly superfluous to me now (what is she actually good at?), and against anyone else probably would have gone.
 
I almost thought it was going to be a double save there when Ru said 'This isn't going to be your last dance' as I thought Scarlet won that lipsync. I feel for her though. How many more times are they gonna save Ra'Jah? That's three times now and she's no Kameron Michaels in lipsyncs.

I thought Vanjie was amazing in the challenge but runway really isn't her strong point - like Michelle says she's the polar opposite of Plastique who barely has much of a personality at all but kills it on the runway. But Vanjie is too strong a character to get rid of at the moment. I LIVE for her vox pops. But she really needs a win or a close win otherwise she's gonna be gone in the next few weeks. The show will be a much quieter place without her, but I guess we still have Silky, who I still can only take in small doses.

I like Nina a lot, I think she's a nice girl and probably is going to win Miss Congeniality. Yvie is not doing herself any favours but I do love her imagination - though a lot of it seems to be on a similar theme.

Akeria winning the challenge was a bit of a surprise moment, I barely remembered her in the performance. And YES, Brooke Lynn reminds me of a Detox without as much surgery! Who else? Was Sugah even IN this episode?
 
I liked Scarlet and wanted to see more, she was definitely trying. I really don't care about Ra'jah, just get rid already.

I don't get Nina West either, camp is not an excuse for it not to be polished, right now all I'm getting is Mimi Imfurst. Visage's comment about her silhouette was on point.
 
Oh is this STILL ON? If anyone can advise of any genuine reason for me to carry on with it, PLEASE DO. Otherwise I’ll remain unconvinced of there being any point to this season whatsoever

I did this last year I was surprised at how much guys liked it! I've grown it out now but seriously considering bringing it back for the summer.
 
I enjoyed this episode. I finally feel like I know all the cast now with Akeria coming out of her shell this week.

I felt sorry for Scarlet. Not a big fan, but she really couldn’t have done anything more in that lip sync and yet STILL Ra’jah outshone her - Ra’jah really ain’t all that...!

I think Vanjie was super lucky not to be lip syncing this week though. I thought Ra’jah did fine in the challenge and her runway was ten times Vanjie’s. It’s like they feel bad for eliminating Her so early last season they’re scared to put her bottom 2 again. How many times can one girl be told about her runway look? I really felt she should have been auto-bottom 2 as soon as she came out in that outfit.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I’m enjoying Silky to be honest. She’s certainly a memorable character along with Yvie. Those two and Vanjie all feel unique for all the complaints people have had about this season being all retreads of previous queens

Her performance in the maxi challenge saved her, she was the strongest in her team. She’s by far the most entertaining queen on the show this year, and I’m sure will have the biggest career. They know that she’s a draw and want to keep her as long as possible. Probably another couple of weeks I think.
 
I mean I get all that, but objectively: they have given her some pretty clear advice now on a number of occasions - and she’s blatantly ignored it.

Plastique is definitely going to be like a DR Thailand crossover event (even though she’s Vietnamese)
 
Oh DEAR at there not even being a thread to discuss this week's hot new episode (which features Alyssa apparently). Well I'm certainly not starting one :tongueout:

This season is actually fairly good, but I'd be enjoying it a LOT more if they the seasons weren't so back to back. It's become too disposable.
 
A particular issue I have with it is the graphics being EXACTLY the same as always. It used to be quite comforting and now it’s just aggravating because it’s quite obviously borne of being cheap, greedy and lazy
 
Also - and I know some queens don’t use them, so the accusatory finger isn’t pointed in their direction - isn’t it about time everyone ditched the COMEDY BREASTS? It all seems so terribly tired and dated
