For what it's worth, I quite like Season 7 too but not especially inspired with loads of acting challenges for a group of queens who are better off in the front row of a fashion show than a Netflix audition.

You get the introduction of Katya of course who of course is now legendary - she's never really floated my boat personally but you can see the talent (and the METH SCARS) quite clearly.

The AMOUNT of people who've told me "IT'S NO LONGER BEING SHOWN ON NETFLIX" shows that the publicity for this is actually quite a bad thing!

The content of these two posts resulted in my wanting to instantly log on and declare Drag Race to be my FAVOURITE SHOW EVER and that’s without HIIEEEEEEEE even being INCLUDED!

Alyssa vs Coco was one of the show’s great, great moments...

That went on for far too long and by the end you just wanted it to just stop (or maybe that’s just me).

Never forget it gave us THIS QoL moment:

Although I'm still loving this show it's disappointing that nothing is coming close to S4/5/6/AS2 the latter of which is truly the PINNACLE of Drag Race viewing. It's like everything since has been a reset but is yet to find that magic mix of Queens and drama. Yet it seems more popular than ever now which is presumably down to that earlier golden streak. Anyway since AS2 I've zipped through...

AS2 - Exceptional, stunning, delivering on every level imaginable

S8 - And WHAT a comedown. I have no problem with Bob - she would have done perfectly well in other seasons, likely losing against Sharon/Jinxx/Bianca/Alaska but possibly beating the rest and making the final 3 in any year. We should in fact thank our lucky stars she was there at all because this season was teeth-grindingly dull...

S9 - Ok maybe I need to rewatch because I think I was drunk through most of it. However, wig of life moment aside, I don't remember giving much of a fuck about anyone. Better than 8, yes, but forgettable all the same

S2 - So then I went back to 2. I was expecting...I don't know. But I was massively surprised, a great mix of queens, a fair bit of drama, the awfulness of Tyra. It's actually better than all the recent seasons. Tatianna's Britney :disco: I think it should be a rule that anyone that fucking terrible at Snatch Game (Tyra) should have any claim to the throne instantly QUASHED

S3 - Still on this actually but loving it too. I do find it bizarre when people have a trajectory like Stacy's (Bottom 2 - WIN - Eliminated). Her snatch game was inspired. Again it seems to have a solid mix of front runners that some later seasons lack.

I'm juggling s10 with it too and that's really quite weird having to wait for an episode which I've never had to before  10 so far seems a step up, if not vintage Drag Race..

I haven't bothered with All Stars 3. Should I?

Also I really wish there was no elimination in episode 1, always seems far too harsh, as it does on all these kinds of shows.

Of course you should do AS3, even the worst seasons (7 & AS1) are worth a watch.

Well yes I suppose that was a silly question, but everyone has been so horrible about it :DI'm sure it's got to have its moments.

Katya and Ginger were the only real standouts from Season 7. Pearl and Miss Fame are amongst the annoying in the show's history for me.

Death Becomes Her was QUITE phenomenal though. From Katya's shark and Max' heart to Violet's waist and Kennedy's cryastallizing to guest judges Ariana and Merle, it's probably my favourite runway concept.

AS3 was good, people were too high on AS2 that it was never going to live up. It still had some of the best lipsyncs and performances in the show's history.

On no planet is season 7 among the worst. It's fucking hilarious start to end and it gave us so many iconic contestants.

And if season 4 is really among your favourites you'll probably love everything. I fucking hate that season and any moment that Drag Race decides to prioritise manufactured drama over everything else. Season 4 has an shocking lack of talent when you actually think about it - a grand total of about 2.5 queens worth their salt. Phi Phi can get right in the bin.

Absolutely! That’s why AS3 was disappointing for me. If they’d just left it alone like AS2, it wouldn’t have been as good as AS2 but it would’ve been better than it turned out.

Are you saying that AS2 didn't have manufactured drama?

Of course not, but I felt it was more a case of “here’s a mechanism through which drama could happen”, and the queens did the rest. But there were plenty of nice moments with everyone.

In AS3 it was like drama was all that mattered. As I noticed before, the revenge of the queens episode was longer than the finale, how’s that for priorities?

Anyway I SAID “I FELT”

S9 and so far S10 are up there with AS2/S6/S5 and to a lesser extent S4 for me.

Utter nonsense. Sharon, Chad and Latrice were all wonderful, likable and supremely talented.
Phi Phi and Willam were amazing antagonists.
Even Jiggly Caliente was a compelling (and ultimately quite endearing) train wreck.

The show looks a bit rough around the edges compared to now, but it's one of the strongest casts ever for me. Certainly one of the most iconic.

They were both crap pantomime villains. I have no time for self-appointed bad guys whose every line is clearly calculated for maximum screentime. Willam was insanely boring!

Queens screaming at each other is absolutely not what Drag Race is about. I want runway LERKS, I want sisterhood, I want comedy and absurdity. Not hate.

Oh LIVE A LITTLE.
