Paul Reubens DEAD

He wasn't especially famous in the UK. At a guess the stories that surround are probably more well known during the Internet era.
 
RIP. One of my first childhood-era icons.

I always found it very telling how Pee Wee Herman was a property that nobody else would touch to either relaunch or remake it, *that* scandal really did end him.
 
RIP :( The Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas sync watch was one of my favourite Moopy lockdown memories.
 
Yeah I only really knew him from the scandal. For years I assumed he'd been caught with child porn or something. I felt sorry for him when I twigged that all he'd done was have a wank in a cinema. WHO HASN'T?

I don’t know. There was a lot of whining when I did it during the first ten minutes of ‘Up’.
 
There was a dodgy porn thing years after the cinema thing, but that was debatable.
 
This was quite iconic to me as a child who went through a phase of repeatedly renting this film from Blockbuster:
 
That cinema 'scandal' was ludicrous. It was a PORN THEATRE, what were the police EXPECTING people to be doing there? He wasn't jacking off at a screening of 'The Bodyguard'.

Surprised me, but then I remember working in a video shop in the late 80s, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure being a few years old at the time so it figures.

I hated it and had no interest in anything he did since.
