Croatia

Owners of probably the most charming flag in Europe, Croatia were one of the big dog MVPs of 90s Eurovision, totting up a run of entries from 1995 to 1999 with a firm claim to being the strongest ever. It's probably fair to say they went down a gear or two in the 00s, but there's certainly plenty of good value to be found in this fairly consistently left-hand line-up - not least in two of the most Moopy-acclaimed entries of the decade, which I imagine will be facing off for the Croatian crown this week

Do you like your Eurovision entries SERIOUS, BROODING, DRAMATIC and featuring EXTENSIVE REFERENCES to medieval wars? YOU'RE IN LUCK. And it turned out Europe did too! A decent little run of results here, with the exception of the one time they dropped the formula and sent a comedy entry about a shoe.
