This is something that's been discussed multiple times in the mod forum and we're at a bit of a loss what to do to be honest.

Inner Smile has been given multiple warnings, discouragements and even temporary bans for his behaviour but, clearly, has not changed it sufficiently to be a good fit for Moopy.

However, he also hasn't broken the rules so egregiously that the mods feel we can justify a lifetime ban.

I don't feel there is a particularly good way forward. If mods just take a decision to ban him, it's potentially controversial given our justification would be, essentially, "he's a bad fit" and not grounded especially in the forum's rules.

Equally, to throw it out to a site wide discussion/vote would be incredibly cruel too. This conversation, which he can obviously see and join in with, already sits uncomfortably with me, even although you are absolutely right and legitimate to raise concerns funky, and this post is just my honest response of what the staff have been discussing.

And yes, my arse is sore from this fence sitting.
 
Oh I agree with everything. I woke up late and in a bad mood.

Nobody should be banned because of their style. But it’s been months. YEARS. I hate putting people on ignore, it ruins thread continuity.

I mean read the room you have AN ENGLAND FLAG AS YOUR AVATAR IN THE MIDDLE OF RACE RIOTS

I voted for you to stay in the last mod election, I also told Ag I was willing to start again. Vor came down on him and I could have done the same but I didn't. Cos i'm better than that
 
Inner Smile, can I suggest instead of going immediately on the defensive and lashing out, you take some time to consider why things have escalated to a public discussion about your behaviour, and why it is only you that this has happened to?
 
No one has it in for you. If Zen had it in for you then you would have been gone a long, long time ago. You need to accept that the way you choose to present yourself is making the experience of posting here more unpleasant for a significant number of people and adjust your behaviour. If you can’t or won’t, you have to accept that people are going to react to you negatively.
 
There’s no correct way of continuing this conversation. I don’t want to be part of an attack and the mods are just doing their job.

I’ve moaned, let’s leave it.

It's not just that. A lot of your content comes across as messy trolling. You seem to think it's all about me, but I really don't hold that much sway. This is about you and how your posting style annoys people.

It’s not necessarily about having a go at people. For example, funky set up a thread to tease some sort of event that he’s planning. You arrive and say ‘what’s this shit’ followed immediately by a string of other posts, one of which was at least mildly insulting to Zen, who has behaved with you exactly as a good moderator should. It may be that you really can’t see why people see this sort thing as irritating, but I feel that you will enjoy your time here more if you examine why people respond to you in the way that they do rather than immediately assuming that it’s all their fault because you’re so nice.
 
I also don't think Inner Smile should be banned, so this is where the individual block function is probably best suited.
 
When I said 'what's this shit' I was joking. I have nothing against funky, I don't even have anything against Ag or anyone. I don't know anyone on here in reality. If people do want me to stop posting on here I honestly will. I spent a few years before I joined just browsing and i'll go back to it
 
That thread didn’t bother me, as it goes. It was made to illicit daft responses.

Other threads however keep taking awkward turns. I would actually like you to keep posting. But just mindful that it might be too much sometimes or a bit out of whack with the conversation and it’s killing the humour dead.

I appreciate this is not intentional.
 
It just hasn't stopped. In the last 40 minutes has attempted to derail the Olympics 2028 topic three times. Can't we just have a weekend off?
 
Isn't the point of that thread to make funny/silly suggestions for the next Olympics? I don't really see what was so out of step in his contributions.
