The Scottish actor starred as clever medical examiner Doctor Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard in the CBS series “NCIS.”

RIP I'll always remember him from Sapphire and Steel, which is still one of the most bizarre and unique sci-fi series ever broadcast. I didn't know he was in NCIS, good for him getting a later-career gig that probably kept him very comfortable.

I'm glad it's still viewed as bizarre and unique. I don't feel quite so bad for 10 year old me just utterly failing to understand it.
