OK, who is this woman? I'm not sure. But she's amazing.

All five of the singles from her 2nd album Prioritise Pleasure, which I believe is out tomorrow, are shades of great.

Moody is very immediate. You Forever is the most straightforwardly pop. I Do This All The Time is mostly spoken word with some hilarious (and touching) lyricism.

I'd call her artistry glam un-glam in a very British way.

LOVE HER! Saw her at a festival last month and going next month too :disco:

GOD DAMN YOU for posting Moody though, I was saving that for an ASFM

I'm not here for this culture of WITHOLDING great pop songs from the people until ASFM

I'm a giver, I like to give šŸ˜‡

Fucking Wizardry is like Kate Nash meets Santigold meets Wolf Alice :D very '00s UK DIY pop. LOVE IT.

ok there are some beautiful hidden gems in the back half of this record. The 345 and John Elton are gorgeous. The harmonies!

I enjoyed the One Where She's On Drums In The Video enough to just jump for this when I was in Fopp at lunch time.

I shall report back.

I'm about halfway through my first listen and its all very solid. Fucking Wizardry and Moody are two of the best, and Still Reigning is just beautiful. Not today, but I can see it bringing me to tears.

Oh DARLING I can't even look at it, much less listen to it. Just not GLAMOROUS enough for me. Also, so SHOCKINGLY BLOATED

I've given this a couple of spins now and, yes, bloody good it is too. Will need to hunt down the debut, I expect.

My copy of the album arrived yesterday and I've been listening today. I Do This All The Time is obviously immense but it is a strong album all through. The debut had some good stuff but this is much more confident and bigger. LOVING You Forever.

She wanted to go bigger and more bombastic, the others [in Slow Club] refused...

Eventually Taylor bit the bullet, partly spurred on by RuPaulā€™s Drag Race, which she describes as ā€œmy religion. It actually changed my shit and helped me get out of the band because I was like: I could lip sync to pop songs in a dress and be happier.ā€

That will be why, mysterious Facebook poster :disco:

"Sometimes I think if Iā€™d been more mysterious, would I be more successful? I want to be like Christine [and the Queens] and sheā€™s not burping on Instagram."

šŸ˜ What a queen.

Just home from the Glasgow gig of her current tour. She. Was. MAGNIFICENT. Such a magnetic performer - she had the audience in her palm within seconds. Banter was not plentiful but it didn't need to be.

Apart from a wee sit down thing in the back room of a cafe, this was my first gig in two years and I'll admit, I was nervous about being in a crowd. But that's the thing about a great gig. It takes you out of yourself. For that hour, I was out of my own head for once, not thinking about all the things that are going on in the world or in my own small corner of the world and when she finished the set, I looked up, looked around and I felt

I've never heard Slow Club. I should probably investigate now.

I love a bit of Slow Club, my two favourites:

Though in retrospect Charles Watson saying 'We were kinda aware it is not like a load of bangers but it is what we enjoy doing' in the video for In Waves doesn't feel entirely accurate now.

Belatedly obsessed with the Pop Off Edit of You Forever:

EVEN Sam Ryder could NEVER

For any vinyl shaggers out there, her (fucking great) album is currently a ludicrously cheap 9.99 on Amazon.

She released more tickets for Manchester next March this morning :disco:

I think it's a whole new date - she's now doing two nights.

Off to the Barras next March - been a long ol' time since I was last in there.
