Been listening to them a lot recently, mostly because I had finally listened to Anthony Kiedis’ Scar Tissue audiobook (really good).
Realised that I actually was a big fan back in the day - particularly the Blood Sugar, One Hot Minute and Californication albums.
Sort of went off them after that and Stadium Arcadium really just killed them for me. Yuck!
Anyway, Unlimited Love is pretty good as far as their recent albums go and to be honest some of their earlier stuff is also quite influential.
Album rankings (of the ones I know) and top 10 coming

Soon

RHCP Top 10:

1. Dark Necessities
2. Scar Tissue
3. Breaking The Girl
4. Otherside
5. Californication
6. Universally Speaking
7. Under The Bridge
8. By The Way
9. Higher Ground
10. Venice Queen

Top 5 albums:

1. Californication
2. Blood Sugar Sex Magik
3. By the Way
4. Unlimited Love
5. Mothers Milk

Worst band EVER.

Except for Under the Bridge, which lets face it All Saints improved 1,000% on account of their ability to actually sing rather than HONK.

The RHCP are largely TERRIBLE, and they were particularly insufferable in that period of the noughties when they became the default band for every basic bro who found the Foo Fighters too edgy

But the idea that All Saints did Under The Bridge better is one of the most wrong opinions I've ever heard

Oh they do have some gems: Under the Bridge, Scar Tissue (bliss) and Zephyr (steady as it comes, etc). Who have I been listening to lately 😉

I got myself into downward spiral the other day
I even watched Anthony Kiedis' Joe Rogan interview?!?!?!?!

I got into them when I was 13 and I borrowed a cassette of Blood Sugar from my gay bff at school
It was cool
Everyone went off them during One Hot Minute but as a contrary Mary I declared it better than BSSM (it wasn’t; but Pea was fun)
