Pablow the Blowfish is BEAUTIFUL.

It is also not her first song about a dead fish. Bottom of the Ocean from Breakout was about a goldfish allegedly. RIP.
 
this is doing quite well on Spotify and looking at a roughly top 20 Hot 100 debut. Slide Away's peak was 47.

speaking of which I'm obsessed with it all over again - how was this not a smash?!

Midnight Sky is good, but I am thinking its SO SIMILAR to Nothing Breaks Like a heart. Is it Mark Ronson produced? Can't blame her for going with that sound tbh

Breakout is a super strong teen-pop debut - almost every song still does the business, I'd have liked to include These Four Walls. Her vocals on the Can't Be Tamed album and Time of Our Lives EP were just dreadfully mixed though, she sounded drunk. She's come a long way on that score.

Love how she channels her inner Trump on the afterthought middle 8 of Talk Is Cheap. "I'm so tired... AND YOU'RE FIRED!" :disco:

I should say that this stems from the embarrassment of declaring Mandy Moore's "Candy" my favourite song ever one week after it was released in 2000. Such a declaration - it must have been the pressure of the impending GCSEs. Don't worry though, I pulled back the street cred in the playground by being the first to get both CD1 and 2 of The Honeyz "I Don't Know" a year later. Cheers! :beer:
