So, having lost all this weight, I need to invest in a load of new gym gear.

What's TRENDY at the moment? It was all Under Armour and Gymshark the last time I bought anything, but I'm OLD and have NO IDEA whether that is still the case or should I be going elsewhere? That kind of price range -ish, I'd guess too.

Any recommendations for SHORTS SO SHORTSTHAT THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A WHORE are welcomed too.

Well GYM really.

I do want to get back into running this year, but I'm less bothered about what I look like as I'm a WOBBLY OLD MESS anyway and so comfort over style is paramount.

STILL, anything GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.

To be honest I DO like GymShark stuff for the gym - it's pretty good quality and they do occasionally do some nice offers. I've started avoiding UnderArmour lately.. it's just everywhere and I think seeing one of the rioters in the summer smashing stuff up in an UnderArmour top just put me off it ...

As for running tops and shorts/tights... I love Ben Parkes (YouTube runner/influencer but his running tops are really good), Asics, Mizuno, Adidas, NewBalance for everyday stuff but for race day stuff I tend to go with Soar and SaySky - both quite pricey but worth it.

I love Runderwear - local(ish) Dorset company for running briefs. Balega for socks.

Oh and for really cheapskate offers I find some of the gym wear on MyProtein isn't bad at all...

Under Armour have some nice looking workout gear / especially the tighter tops, but I like their materials less than Nike and they don't sell anything made sustainably/with recycled materials. which is shit.

I like a lot of Nike Dri-Fit stuff. really good essentials for running and working out in. Nike Court and ADV have some cute pieces too. there's just so much on their website to sift through to find it.

meanwhile Adidas workout gear is so UGLY! I would not be seen dead in it!

Gymshark and lululemon are my go-tos.

The latter is a bit spenny but ooh you notice the difference
I've been tempted with Lululemon but not invested yet.

Some people in my run club are into the trippy HappyStride stuff but I'm not sure about the quality...

Aren't Lululemon MORALLY REPUGNANT?

Anyway, I have a pair of lined gymshark shorts that has stopped me from chafing, and would go back to them should I have a fit of the vapours and needed gym clothes.

If you're planning on buying running shoes please invest in a pair of HOKA, I know they're a bit pricey but trust me you will NEVER look back, they're so good.

Their running shorts and tights are excellent ..
I'm happy for you darling and I will say that there's a sexy 30 ish bald man at my gym who always wears a CAP and often a blue three stripe long sleeve adidas top that hugs his pleasingly toned physique in such a way that I'm basically a dog in heat when I see him lifting a dumbbell once and then texting for ten minutes so MAYBE I need to take it back!

I'm really not sure what's going on here? I'm just talking about good quality clothes to work out in. I don't give two shits about the logo or fashion?!
Athletes have broken world records in Adidas gear, so ..

That's a whole other topic!

Hoka are good but they're not durable. Up until Mach6 all their shoes died after 200-ish miles...

I'm just being silly suedey my love. I like the fashion and the quality etc! and usually I don't think Adidas hits the fashion notes but they do have some cute items and it wasn't a dig at you by any means. xx

I'm actually looking at a pair of blue running shorts on Nike right now but I also sold a similar blue pair on Vinted TODAY. is a simple one in one out policy applicable here?

2-in-1s are very much out indeed, it's all about showing off that extra inch of THIGH in 2025

:horny:

I got some great Decathlon basics thermal leggings etc for my one and only ski trip that remained useful for ages after.

I should specify that I haven't been wearing it continually.

My tits look great in the £4 primark sports top I've now went and bought 6 of (I'll probably buy more as flattering fits should always be binge bought history has taught me). I prefer joggers for bottoms, but for running I've went with the tighter kind that border on tights and I loathe them as I always want to yank them up. I'm more concerned about getting proper running trainers, but I don't have time for shopping much right now. And you can never have enough hats.

Back to Gymshark then I think- there’s a good sale on at the moment.

As an aside, I’m buying loads of second hand clothes at the moment. Vinted is fun and I’m finally a size where I can find nice things. Got a perfect fitting pair of basically new Spoke trousers last week for £7 in a charity shop and then paired it with an actually brand new but from a charity shop also Charles Tyhrwitt shirt for £10. I’m really enjoying the hunt and I like the sustainability angle, but gym stuff is a step too far. I’d keep what I have but the tops particularly are like putting on a sack.

I Can confirm. I love how GALA And I cheer for each other on Instagram when sharing our WORKOUTS!

I just wear obscure football tops it started when I was a kid and we all played football afterschool, instead of spending shitloads on latest team kits I'd go and see what was on the bargain rail and buy last season's Lazio 3rd kit.

Currently rotating a Japanese world cup top and a probably fake Morocco one.

I've got a couple of football tops I wear- including my BEAUTIFUL Sweden one I bought last summer, wore twice and now is like a sack on me :(
