I love her. She's the soundtrack to my adult life. I think she is incredibly talented, and adorably lame.
I think the ARTPOP era cemented some kind of trauma bond with her. My life was a complete shambles at the time, and I suppose it was both exhilarating and horrifying to watch her release what for me is her most exciting album, but absolutely fuck everything up around her in a slow-motion car-crash of bad decisions. Sometimes I watch her performances from that era - Do What U Want on Alan Carr, Artpop on Jimmy Kimmel, Gypsy on some show in Japan - and find them so full of pain and pathos, but also queen out because she was serving at the same time. I miss that side of her. I think she was probably the rawest megastar I've seen. Her ascent was spectacular and wild. She was an icon after four singles.
