Fun episode! None of the lip syncs were particularly mind blowing but they were all a lot of fun, albiet with some slightly DODGY results as per. :D

The Vivienne beat Yvie comfortably for me during Push It, but I can see why they chose the latter.
What a pleasant surprise that Raja turned it out both times! Although those two songs could not have been more tailored for them :D
Jinkx's dramatic cape flowing was the first time I have ever enjoyed Judas
Trinity totally beat Monet
That said, Monet beat Jinkx in the finale. But I'm not salty about that because in the grand scheme of things Jinkx clearly had to be the overall winner

Overall a very enjoyable season! I hope they bring this format back again.

Oh and Raja's final runway look! :o Absolutely stunning. She may have been lower tier on the challenges this season but looks wise she's been far and away the best. What a great showcase for her.

Jinkx did well in Judas, and So What was not the choice for those two kitchen-sink lip sync titans. Raja was dealt as kind a song choice as was possible, and even then Yvie did win that so I do wish Ru had explained it would be judged on the entire show as was the final smackdown. However, I felt her mini montage emphasised just how terrific she truly was on this entire show - she deserved to be in the proper final if you ask me (although would have went away much poorer). I also did love she and Yvie emerging on stage like one of those 90s late night incomplete Golden Girls reunion episodes. Oh but anyway, I've only just now heard Swish Swish and what a hidden gem.

Shea still hasn't caught on to what one needs to win these finale lip syncs - she's so utterly clueless in terms of scene-grabbing moments, but the care that goes into her runways is almost untouchably meticulous. With her, it's almost a bit like the fun is more in the getting ready than the actual event. Trinity is a perfect stamp of a drag queen, and knows the rule book, how to "volley" etc, but wake me up when something truly surprising happens. Viv had run out of petrol - she sure did peak with grotesque abandon, but she also routinely Janey Jacké'd in terms of placing.

Monet had no business being in the final final, but she's a dependable talking head and the show did need her a lot. As tacky as it would have been, the show cutting away at the simulation of anal sex was probably more offensive to me - what was that about "shaking the tree" Ru? Then again, he said it in the same episode Jeff Goldblum was on before that question and proceded to dodge all the fallen apples in the reunion episode that compiled comments made by the guest judges that were filmed on the same day they were there.

Ru's tears are easy to guffaw at, but she is a 60 year old man and I do think she means them just as much as they are on cue.

I don't know why I didn't quite get mineses this week, I felt it was a bit pre-ordained, which took much of the excitement out of it. But I don't want to be one of those who always poopoos the finales - I think just so many lip syncs can be a bit much unless the songs are great. The choices WERE pretty good compared to the ropey choices this season.

I did like the recorded-in-post line addendum to Ru's last bit "Based on tonight's lipsync and your performance during the whole season, the winner is ...", it was pretty clear who the winner would be, and fair enough, I can't argue with that.

I will say though (are we spoilering really? I don't think anyone goes into these threads posted after the airdate without thinking there are spoilers right?), that Trinity was robbed at least of 2nd place. Raja did turn it, and I think Yvie's wig thing really WAS a floof she tried to style out.

The thing I find weirdest is that there was a prize for 1st place, and for effectively 5th place - but not for 4th-2nd?! They could manage at least a runner-up prize for S14, so what happened?

Well, anyhoo, I'm glad this happened, I wonder if this will either lead to a leftovers winner season at some point, I'm sure they can tempt Alaska and Trixie into it, Bob maybe, Simone and Willow, and Kylie? And Priyanka would be nice (even if she's not Ru-chosen)

Of course the real winner is SORB discovering a hidden platinum-certified gem :D

I have successfully avoided that homophobic harridan for years (I've never forgiven it for You're So Gay), but have thawed my stance lately even if it's all completely derivative with much better source material :disco:

I have to embrace you, for I too was a late adopter. I think I just put off by that shit unfunny video (including that backpack dance kid that Monet was copying ugh)

Oh, and apparantly Ru stood up for Raja's laser reveal, which was not shown together with shots of the actual full beam of it all. My source is Willam :eyes:

If anything has come out of this season, I’ve finally cut Race Chaser loose, thanks to Willam’s tidbits and bad faith assumptions that suck the fun out of everything.

They aren’t even going back to Classique, they’re doing Down Under of all things, Christ

Queens who could potentially do All Winners: Season 2

Bebe Zahara Benet
Tyra Sanzhez
Sharon Needles
Chad Michaels
Alaska
Bianca Del Rio
Violet Chachki
Trixie Mattel
Bob The Drag Queen
Sasha Velour
Aquaria
Symone
Willow Pill
Laurence Cheney
Krystal Versace
Kita Mean
Kylie Sonique Love
Priyanka
Icesis Coutour

And that's before you potentially stretch to the non English language ones.

Tyra, Sharon and Violet seem unlikely. Not sure Chad would be bothered at this stage either but with a kinder format who knows?

Well, almost all the lip-synchs had the wrong winner :D but what can you do?

I was rooting for Raja every time she stepped on stage, so it didn't really matter what she did. It's nice they gave her tracks from her "era". It felt like a fitting love-letter to a drag legend. And yes, her final runway was absolutely stunning.

Jinkx cannot lip-synch to save her life, so I guess she really did dabble in some dark arts. Monet ate Swish Swish, but you can't deny Jinkx is the single most talented person this franchise has ever produced.

Shea is such an odd one. All the ingredients are there, but that was not the moment to bust out the actual Judas choreo.

The Vivivenne's "crab paste" humour bottomed out here. I was happy to see her and her ill-fitting shoulder-upper arm go out first.

If I'm not hit over the head with youtube suggestion videos then I don't hear about it dear Didz.

Really hope it doesn’t come to having Lawrence and Kita

Priyanka would be a great one though.

STILL don’t know why Icesis is reportedly doing DRC vs the World

Shea mentions in Untucked that Judas is the first song she ever performed onstage, which made me feel very old.

From @VoR's list, I would LOVE:

Chad Michaels
Alaska
Bianca Del Rio
Violet Chachki
Bob The Drag Queen
Sasha Velour
Aquaria
Symone

Assuming Tyra, Sharon, Bianca and Violet wouldn't do it/be invited, I would enjoy

Bebe
Chad Michaels
Alaska
Bob The Drag Queen
Aquaria
Symone
Laurence Cheney
Kylie Sonique Love

Bob vs Alaska would actually potentially be quite competitive too...

Yes, Bob vs Alaska is the battle that we need. It would be glorious.

I would instinctively prefer Bob.

Lovely episode overall. I thought Judas and Swish Swish were the stronger of the lipsyncs and I was glad that Jinkx actually won Judas (she lost the other one but for the season she more than deserves the win).

If I were to do season 2

Alaska
Bob The Drag Queen
Aquaria
Sasha Velour
Symone
Laurence Cheney
Priyanka
Carmen Faralla (although she seems to struggle in English)

Bob would walk away with it which is the right thing

Why would Violet not do it? I would love to see her there.

I agree with what everyone else said; almost all lip syncs had the wrong winner. :D

But there could only be one winner and thank God for that!

I don’t know if I’m getting too soft, but I enjoyed the acceptance speeches and farewells and Ru’s praise the most this episode and got teary eyed on several occasions. :)

Obviously there needs to be a next season with Alaska as a winner (but I don’t know if I could handle Alaska not winning).

I feel Trinity really got a raw deal these last couple of episodes. She’s been second only to Jinkx for me in terms of consistently strong performance and runway, but from having to be dragged into the top four by Monet to her early out this week, the show kind of treated her like an afterthought.

Yikes.

ALL of those lip syncs were called wrong :D

flavor of love wtf GIF

Jynkx winning the big reward and Raja winning the little one was the best possible outcome.

The season was all the more fun, but Y'ALL KNOW DAMN WELL that production was gonna act up and shoehorn the Top 4 of their choice.

They need to stop tryna make Monet a big deal. She's the most overrated queen of the lot. And Shea was generic af by the end of it.

Jaida was robbed.
