This album was a complete commercial disaster even in Sweden, flopped all over the continent and only got a soft release in the UK (And no release at all in the US I believe...). It isn't hard to see why with the complete lack of promotion, plus 'Beautiful Morning' being a very underwhelming comeback single.

However, for me time has been very kind to this album. It's definitely a bit MOR compared to the barmy pop gems you can find on Happy Nation and Flowers, but it's all very lovely.

Unspeakable is GREAT, despite being about 5 years out of date even when released. Poor fat Linn in the video. :(

Yeah, prety cracking little album and chockablock with corkers (well, three at least). It's certainly the album I reach for if I fancy a Base album session. The debut has some truly clunky lows, The Bridge goes on a bit too long and Flowers is a bit too tinny. Each album has its respectively ace highs of course though...

Show Me Love is my album track of choice. I love the clunky but still strangely sweet bridge

"I am not beautiful
But I can give you something no-one else can give you
ME"

:D

Unspeakable, Ordinary Day and Show Me Love are definitely the three standouts for me but I'm really rather partial to Beautiful Morning, What's The Name Of The Game and Change With The Light too.

Hey Darling's a bit of a dud and the title track doesn't do much for me... but other than that, it's a fine ole show.

Oh yes I do like Beautiful Morning a lot. It was just too MOR to be a comeback smash. Though to be honest the writing was probably on the wall regardless of what they went with.

It's probably my favourite pissed off Linn video too, with the one repeated shot of her sitting in a cafe with a face like she's chewing a wasp. :D

I'm not too keen on the album but "Beautiful Morning" and "Unspeakable" are both ace tunes.

I always loved the Groove Mix of 'Beautiful Morning' :)

It's got some proper brilliant highs which I can listen to over and over again (although never do so not quite true) and not much in between. It gets an 8 though just for those highs. And I'm sorry but I love "Hey Darling". The "Wonderful Life" cover is actually my highlight though, it just sounds SO RIGHT to me. But the title track, the singles, World down Under - ALL excellent. I doubt anything would have saved it, anywhere, though

I feel Ace of Base have always been let down by their lyrics :( Their new album is no exception... I love their tunes I just can't help thinking they could be amazing with different lyrics.

I always felt Da Capo was like all their previous albums re-hashed. And that was TO IT'S BENEFIT.

There's plenty to love on Da Capo. Unbreakable is top tier, but Beautiful Morning and Ordinary Day are both a treat too. The rest really does rework their formula perfectly.
