Yeah I just poured over the track listing and man that shit is SOUR. The singles are excellent but the majority of the album cuts are trash :D
 
There’s a lot of shit on there, but the four singles are great and there is three to four good album tracks. If you take out the interludes then that’s over half the album or so :D

2. Doesn't Really Matter (but the video/single version; in hindsight, it's not that bad even though it's a MUMBLE-fest)
3. Someone To Call My Lover
4. Come On Get Up
5. I would choose between You Ain't Right or Trust A Try

I don't care for Son Of a Gun or the rest of the album, the quality really went downhill compared to Velvet Rope.
 
Someone To Call My Lover is such a great Summer song to me and takes me right back to that Summer back in the early 00’s. It would easily be my favourite track from this album just because it has so many great memories attached.

I kissed so many boys to that song back in the day. It is easily in my Janet top 10. I also go RIGHT BACK when I hear it.

Come On Get Up is such a HAPPY BANGER! It Ain't Right and When We Ooo complete the list of listenable songs
 
I’d entirely forgotten the All For You single was big enough to be a SEVEN WEEK NUMBER ONE in the US.

I always remember at the time thinking it was the best chance she had at a UK number one. It was higher in the midweeks, I recall and was absolutely everywhere pre- release.

What I never thought in a million years is that it would be her last top ten hit here! :o
 
Come On Get Up suffered from the same problem as Madonna’s Give It 2 Me or Turn Up The Radio. It was just slight. Cheap sounding. And, most importantly, not really Janet…

It was ok, and it shone on that album to be fair, but it was a step down from the singles she’d been releasing from the album before.

In the US, after All For You hit #1, STCML landed at #3 then the only other “hit” here looks to be Feedbag at #19.

I Want You and Rock With U deserved better

Son of a Gun was just ok, definitely the weakest of the singles.
