    Kylie - Tension (2nd single, August 31st)

First listen I thought it was a mess. Second listen and I quite liked it. Downloaded it after the third listen. Fourth listen and it replaced 'Padam Padam' on my Best of 2023 playlist.

Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th)

Nah. It's not for me. Good luck to her though. She's always been brilliant at being a popstar, even when the output is a bit rubbish.

That! Feels Good! - Album listening party this weekend?

It's up there with Michael Medrano's 'LoveSexDrugs' as my album of the year thus far (although to be fair, his is more of a collection of previously released tracks cobbled together as a debut album.

    Olivia Newton-John DEAD

I stayed up to watch it, having got all my timings wrong. I've only just got up but I'm glad I saw it.

    Olivia Newton-John DEAD

Wouldn't the memorial service be screened around 2:30am UK time - so in four and a bit hours?!? I'm absolutely rubbish with time zones. I think I'm going to have to stay up and possibly pop out to the shop, but not in that order.

    Olivia Newton-John DEAD

Olivia AND Dolly - it's a gay fantasy dream come true. I was never really a fan of Olivia's 1976 cover version, but I can get behind this one - just because it's her voice and it's Dolly's voice and Dolly's vocal ad-libs are amazing. I really like this.

Madonna Survivor: The 2000s (Round 8)

    I can't vote. I love them all.

So it looks like the S Club revival is really happening...

I agree. If you loved them being shit back then, then go ahead and recapture your youth in the midst of a cost of living crisis paying money to see a bunch of people who earned a lot more than you back then, but apparently not quite enough to see them through to retirement.

So it looks like the S Club revival is really happening...

It's not always a good thing.

So it looks like the S Club revival is really happening...

I agree that they were throwaway pop. The groups themselves had no choice but to be good at it, because each individual member was contractually fucked. Nostalgia and monetary gain will always scrape out the bottom of the pop recycling bin.

So it looks like the S Club revival is really happening...

All nostalgia to one side - S Club and Steps were shite back when they first appeared on the scene in the 90's and three quite-catchy hits does not a legendary group make.

    I couldn't be LESS interested.

    Raquel Welch DEAD

Her name was everywhere when I was a kid in the eighties. Thirty years or so later and I did have to look her up to remind myself of why the name was so familiar.
