Next you're going to tell me it wasn't him in that monkey suit.

I haven't actually seen that many 🥴

But there's plenty of precedent for other people singing the music I'm sure and this relentless smear campaign grew tiresome pages ago

Still an absurd robbery. Kathy Bates in Richard Jewell was just a ridiculous nomination, ScarJo did not need a second nomination for JoJo Rabbit when she was already in lead for Marriage Story and I'm not sure any multi Oscar-nominated film of the past few years has aged worse than Bombshell.

She'll get it for Kiss of the Spider Woman though :disco:

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Some poor second rate drama on Paramount + is going to get cancelled now on the back of this.

Robbie Williams putting thousands of people out of work, all for his monkey project.

It’s hardly his fault. Definitely some kind of tax write-off from the studios. Those unheard of production companies are probably ghost subsidiaries of a big studio too.

How often does a film with such overwhelmingly positive reviews do so badly?

They MUST have known it was never going to do anything in the US. He's entirely unknown there.

I'm sure some Americans on the programme In For A Penny presented by Stephen Mulhern a few years ago mentioned Robbie Williams as a 'famous person from England' though. :D

I wouldn’t say “unknown” as a personality. He’s probably the equivalent of us knowing that Garth Brooks existed as a massive superstar in the US in the 90s, but it still didn’t translate into success.

It’s really hard feel sorry for the entertainment industries crying poverty all the time when Max Rushden (yes, Google him) was given a £5k publishing deal (£5k paid to him upfront with no caveats!) and someone at Paramount absolutely thought they’d recoup $25m on a Robbie Williams biopic in the US.

I'm assuming the US thought "singing monkey" was the draw rather than Robbie

Still an utterly BATSHIT decision

It really is horrid that people are saying they don’t give a fuck about Robbie Williams or his film.

There should be no such middle ground. It’s BLIND HATE or NOTHING!
