All Stars 5: Queen Reveal

I don’t get Blair St Clair. She has very little going for her other than she looks womanly in Drag.
 
Cracker seems funnier on this evidence. She wasn't at all first time. looks like it could be a good season :o Mayhem is so handsome out of drag.
 
I'm most excited about Jujubee, but then I try not to get overexcited about All Stars as it always seems to end on a sour note
 
I am so happy for Jujubee and Ongina. Most of the others were absolutely rubbish at challenges. I'll need to watch this again soon to digest it. I think it will be good. Some of the talent show spots are going to be painful :disco:
 
I have to say I think the name 'All Stars' is a bit of a stretch for a few of these, but I am sooooo excited for Jujubee and to a lesser extent Shea. I like Blair (but do not like her intro video here - too try hard) and Mayhem. But really they're the only 4 I care about too much.

Miz Cracker one of the least funny 'comedy' queens I've ever seen.
 
I'm willing to give Cracker a chance, but she still feels like crumbs. Especially following Jackie as the better version of her. It's easy to forget she had some minor moments that everything else just vacuum sucked from memory.

Mayhem I've never seen it apart from the fisting gloves dress. Maybe more experience in front of a camera will have made her more immediate this time.

Shea is top tier. If she's smart she'll have thought of at least one crown snatching lip sync trick.

I enjoy Mariah. The more knowingly bitter the better please.

Blair looks even like a fetus than last time. I thought she looked great.

India leaving week 1 to make Thorgy seem like a Disney princess please.
 
This is a rather terrible cast. My least favourite since AS1.

Here for JuJuBee and Blair, and Shea.
 
My dream cast of those who haven’t done AS yet would be:

Willam
Courtney
Derienne
Laganja
Joslyn Fox
Max (nothing exciting but she was good before she got the sudden chop)
Peppermint
Alexis Michelle
Nina Bonina

and give the hilarious COCO MONTRESE a second AS chance. :disco:
 
I’m really into this line up, I’m glad they are firmly saying AS1 doesn’t count. I guess RuPaul is nicking another thing Latrice said.

The only weak link for me (as an endangered Cracker fan) is India Ferrah, serving Angler fish with those chompers

the promo shots are baffling, I wonder what the concept was, they are just in their entrance looks so it must have been done last year! Did they not have a budget this year?

Does Max even still do drag? She certainly doesn't seem to have anything to do with World of Wonder that I've noticed.

I'm still holding out for the MRS KASHA DAVIS rudemption.
 
I had to pick someone from S7, and Max’ time on drag race seemed like it ended abruptly so she needs a second chance.

Max is definitely someone that was fucked over by production - multiple queens have confirmed that she was ASKED to sing a song on the main stage, then they edited things to make her look insane :(

I read something a while ago about her having had some sort of shitty boyfriend/manager who was stealing from her and really messed up the opportunities she had after leaving the show. I don't know how true that is, but she was so popular at the time then just did NOTHING with that momentum so I'm inclined to believe something happened.
 
Max's instagram hasn't been updated in over 18 months, and she refers to herself as an artist. No mention of drag or Drag Race.
 
Mayhem is pretty basic. She's from the school of "I do drag because I wanna look pretty". She's good at serving pleasant looks and absolutely nothing more. Unless she's changed and ready to give more.

Exactly this. Very happy to give her a chance to wow me but I do not hope l have high hopes
 
Mayhem was better on the Holi-Slay thing. Although I can't remember what as, so presumably not THAT much better.
 
I’m excited, after seeing bits and bobs on YouTube, I realised that AS 3 & 4 had so many moments. At the time there were plenty of clunkers and bittersweet victories, and probably most importantly they had to follow AS2. But they are still definitely worth it.

AS5 has a clutch of my “why haven’t they done all stars yet?” queens. I expected Mariah before now, she’s always going WoW stuff and she’s super charismatic. I was giving up hope on Jujubee and Ongina.

I liked Shea a lot but I never quite saw how she would be SUCH an obvious winner. So I’m looking forward to a bit of an open field this time.

Still a bit WTF how India came out of nowhere, I can’t remember anything she did. There are plenty of other Rudemption stories I’d have preferred from early leavers. Like Laila McQueen, Mrs Kasha Davis, or Sonique

I've heard the same. But similarly without seeing any evidence.
 
In defence of Mayhem, if you watch back her season she's one of those queens who got eliminated for not being dramatic enough in the workroom, rather than being bad at drag.
As mentioned previous, it was LUDICROUS she wasn't in the top for the ball episode considering the looks she pulled out of the bag (and Cracker was for the hair bikini!), and the episode she was eliminated on (the one where Cracker was a pickle and Eureka a baby) could have easily been edited to have her in the top for that week.

Her Krampus look in the Christmas episode is up there with Violet's season 8 crowning look as one of the best the show has seen too.

Having said ALL THAT, I cannot defend this :D

Shannel is such an amazing queen in that she's as cringe as Derick Barry, but also an AMAZING drag queen which for me makes quite an appealing reality TV contestant.

I think she said she realised she doesn't need to do All Stars again - she has a regular gig in Vegas (pre C-19) that obvious pays quite well and she'd probably LOSE IT if she disappeared for filming.
